Speech Language Pathologist-CO Certified-Partial Caseload

SLP · 1099 · virtual · CO

Position Overview

Are you a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist looking for flexibility without sacrificing the impact you make? We are seeking a dedicated, Colorado-licensed SLP to join our team for the upcoming school year.

In this role, you will provide high-quality teletherapy services to a diverse student caseload across rural or cooperative school districts managed by a Colorado BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services). This unique structure allows you to support districts that pool their resources to provide exceptional special education services. Enjoy a balanced lifestyle with a 1-day work week (Thursdays) while making a meaningful difference from the comfort of your home office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Therapy: Deliver engaging, evidence-based virtual speech and language therapy sessions to students (PreK-12) based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Assessments & Evaluations: Administer, score, and interpret standardized speech and language assessments remotely to determine eligibility for services.

  • IEP Management: Write legally defensible IEP goals, facilitate or participate in virtual IEP meetings, and maintain meticulous compliance with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) guidelines.

  • Collaboration: Partner virtually with BOCES multidisciplinary teams, general education teachers, school psychologists, and parents to support student success.

  • Documentation: Track student progress diligently, maintain daily session logs, and complete Medicaid billing documentation as required by the BOCES.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.

  • Certification: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.

  • Licensure: * Active (or eligible for) Colorado DORA State SLP License.

    • Active (or eligible for) Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider License.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of school-based experience preferred. Prior teletherapy experience is a plus, but tech-savviness and adaptability are a must.

  • Technical Setup: Reliable high-speed internet, a private/quiet workspace compliant with HIPAA/FERPA privacy standards, and a computer with a functional webcam and microphone.

What We Offer

  • Excellent Work-Life Balance: A predictable 1-day work week (Thursday) with 8.5-hour days.

  • Guaranteed Hours: Paid for both direct therapy time and indirect administrative tasks (planning, paperwork, meetings).

  • Technical Support: Access to user-friendly teletherapy platforms, digital assessment toolkits, and ongoing technical troubleshooting.

  • Community Impact: The opportunity to bring vital therapy services to underserved or rural Colorado student populations.

Note on Colorado BOCES: Working with a BOCES offers a unique, collaborative environment where you are part of a tight-knit regional network dedicated to equity in rural education.
